Autumn Statement
The Chancellor confirms when he will deliver the Autumn Statement to parliament
Jeremy Hunt confirmed in early September that he will present the Autumn Statement to parliament on 22 November.
The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) have been commissioned to prepare an economic and fiscal forecast to be presented to parliament alongside the Autumn Statement. This will follow the King’s Speech, which will take place on 7 November 2023.
There has been a lot of speculation as to what could be unveiled, from a pause to the pensions triple-lock to cuts to benefits, while the Chancellor has been under pressure from Conservative MPs to cut taxes.
